01 / HOW I TEACH
I teach through a structured, step-by-step approach to piano, much like the way I learned: build the fundamentals, put them to use in music, and keep taking on new challenges—with room for music you want to play along the way.
We start with simple rhythm and hand exercises, finding notes, and learning to read music. Some exercises happen away from the keys, giving you a chance to get comfortable with a movement before using it in a piece.
Those basics lead into simple classical pieces, alongside songs you’re excited to learn. We’ll keep working on technique and how to practice, so learning favorite songs goes hand in hand with building solid skills.
When you’re ready, we’ll work toward more demanding parts for both hands, trickier rhythms, playing from memory, and sharing music with other people. Each new challenge builds on what you’ve already learned.
This is what kept me playing: knowing how to practice, hearing myself improve, and enjoying the music. I want you to build those same habits and the confidence to learn new pieces on your own—so piano becomes something you choose to come back to.
02 / YOUR TEACHER
I started playing piano at five, and I’ve been playing for more than 21 years. Music has taken me to concert halls and jazz festivals around the world. Here in Hoboken, I’d love to help you get started.
I graduated from NYU with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies–Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. I enjoy both the creative side of music and the satisfying work of figuring something out.
I’ve performed at the Montreux, Umbria, and Nice Jazz Festivals, and in clubs and restaurants across New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. My classical performances have included Carnegie Hall, the Curtis Center, and concert halls around New Jersey.
Lessons take place in my apartment studio on a 2024 Steinway Model B grand. It’s a lovely instrument to learn on, and you don’t need to know a single note to get started.

The best way to see if lessons are a good fit is to come over and try one. We’ll spend some time at the piano and talk about what you’d like to learn.
GOOD QUESTIONS
Yes. No previous experience is needed. We’ll start with getting comfortable at the keyboard, keeping time, listening, and finding your first notes.
We’ll meet, spend some time at the piano, and talk about your interests. You’ll try a few musical activities and have time to ask questions before deciding whether to continue.
I teach from my apartment studio in Hoboken, New Jersey, on a 2024 Steinway Model B grand piano. I’ll share the address and arrival details once your booking is confirmed.
You’ll need a way to practice between lessons. An acoustic piano or a digital piano with weighted keys works well. If you’re not sure what to get, we can talk through the options when we meet.
After an introductory lesson, enroll once to reserve the same time every week. Lessons continue from month to month. Your first payment covers the remaining lessons in your starting month; after that, your saved card is charged on the 1st for that month’s scheduled lessons. Rates are $70 for 30 minutes, $100 for 45 minutes, or $120 for an hour.
